With a rectangular ormolu gallery top and vernis Martin paneled door signed Baston, it featured a slide-out writing surface above three frieze drawers. Chippendale Birch-cased Tall Clock
Online buyers scoured Skinner\'s August Discovery Auction catalog for \"timely\" buys and turned up some true American treasures. One of the sale\'s standouts was a Chippendale birch-case 8-day model, 89 inches tall, with a painted iron dial signed Paul Rogers, Berwick (Maine). The lot sold to a LiveAuctioneers bidder for $11,637.50 against an estimate of $2,500-$3,500.
Pale Green Jade Bowl
At Tom Harris\' Aug. 25 sale of antiques and Orientalia, 210 visitors viewed this lot in the LiveAuctioneers.com electronic catalog. The pale green jade bowl with three dragon-like creatures gripping the rim measured a mere 2 inches tall, but it exceeded its $100-$300 estimate by attracting 14 bids and ultimately went for $4,800.
French style fruit wood sofa
On Aug. 4, Northgate Galleries auctioned this French style fruit wood sofa on cabriole legs with scroll carved feet covered in quilted silk fabric. The lot attracted 12 bids before a LiveAuctioneers.com bidder won the furnishing after paying $5,175.

On Aug. 13 at Auction Gallery of the Palm Beaches, a 1985 Avinash Chandra oil on canvas titled Pahar Hill attracted 215 online-catalog visitors. The vibrant Impressionist-influenced work, 50 inches by 80 inches in a gilded French frame, sold through LiveAuctioneers for $46,360.
Model of Steam Yacht \"Harvard\"
Kaminski\'s Aug. 11 Maritime Auction saw the most internet interest in the Steam Yacht Harvard. George Baker owned the original, Golden Age steam yacht after which the miniature replica was modeled. The 66-inch-tall model drew 83 visitors to the catalog on LiveAuctioneers\' Web site and sold for $6,600.
